Serving Springfield, Branson, & SW Missouri
F-1 visas are available to international students who are attending a qualified academic program at a United States-based college or university. Students who are seeking this type of visa are required to maintain a full-time course load at the educational institution at which they attend classes. F-1 visa holders are permitted to remain in the United States for 60 days after the completion of their program. To remain beyond that time, these visa holders must apply and be approved to stay to work in the country.
An M-1 visa is like an F-1 visa, with the primary difference being that M-1 visa applicants will be approved to enroll full-time at an American vocational school or other qualified non-academic program. As with F-1 visas, applicants must meet certain health, character and financial requirements to be approved for the visa. M-1 visa holders are also required to seek approval to remain working in the U.S. after the completion of their education.
